A survey of over 400 managers showed the following results regarding meetings: over 50% felt meetings were a waste of time, about 90% thought this due to a lack of planning, and over 75% had no formal training in conducting meetings.

Having a pre-defined format for meeting minutes will make it easier for meeting members and other interested parties to find the meeting results they need. Using the pre-defined minute format on word-processing software can speed the production of meeting records. To speed the minute distribution process, use email attachments of the word-processing software rather than paper copies.
