Good visuals can enhance a presentation tremendously. The 4 main things to remember when designing visuals for a presentation are to only have a few, use big text, keep the message simple, and make the presentation as memorable as possible. Also keep in mind when designing presentation visuals that contain primarily text and tables, use the 6 X 6 rule of no more than 6 lines and 6 words per line. For more details on how 6 X 6 could work for visuals, please see the article below.

How to Use the Rule of Six for Designing Presentation Slides

The above article will also mention the 6 X 6 rule for charts of no more than 6 data points per graph. Charts work better than tables or text because they are more visual and can be understood faster than a list of numbers. For detail on what types of charts/graphs to use to emphasize different types of data, also see the article on charts.

Computers make it so much easier to create and display presentation visuals. It is now possible to add images. movies, sounds, and other animations to make the visuals more interesting. However, use caution when adding these elements to prevent the message getting lost in the use of technology. Review the article below for more ideas on using technology to enhance a presentation.
